We're excited to welcome our TMSA scholars back to school for the 2024 - 2025 academic school year! The first day of school is Monday, August 5th, and we have all the important information you need to prepare for the new school year. From the Back-to-School Launch event to the extended care program (before and after school, everything you need is right here. Let's make this school year the best one yet! 
 
TMSA's 2024 - 2025 Student and Family Handbook
 
The 2024 - 2025 Student and Family Handbook informs students and their families of the policies, procedures, and operations of The Main Street Academy. It highlights policies and guidelines necessary for the academic achievement, safety, welfare, and well-being of our students.
 
 
School Hours
 
School Hours: 7:45 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
 
Students must arrive at school by 7:45 a.m. daily. School starts at 7:45 a.m. (due to traffic, plan accordingly and arrive early).
 
Morning carline drop-off begins at 7:15 a.m. in front of the school. Students dropped off before 7:15 a.m. must be enrolled in the Extended Care Program (before school). Scroll down to the Extended Care Program section for additional details. 
 
Afternoon dismissal begins at 3:00 p.m. and students must be picked up from the carline by 3:30 p.m. 
Scholars not picked by 3:45 p.m. will automatically be entered into the Extended Care Program (after school), and parents/guardians will be required to pay applicable fees. 
 
Back-to-School Morning Drop Off
 
Kindergarten parents/guardians are allowed to escort their students to class on the first day of school, Monday August 5th:
  • On the second day of school, Tuesday, August 6th, kindergarten parents/guardians may drop off their scholars at the back of the school (near the gym) and escort them to the door
  • On the third day of school, Wednesday, August 7th, kindergarten parents/guardians must drop of their scholars in the carline. Staff will be positioned throughout the school to ensure kindergarteners arrive safely to their classrooms
 
1st - 8th grade parents/guardians will not be able to escort scholars to their classrooms. 
 
If families have donations/supplies to drop off, scholars may ake them to their classrooms when dropped off in the morning carline OR parents/guardians must drive to the back of the school (near the gym) to drop off the donations/supplies to a designated TMSA staff member. Staff members will be at the doors to accept donations/supplies. Be sure to label donations/supplies as follows:
  • Student's name
  • Name of the student's teacher
  • Student's grade level

School supplies may be dropped off at the Back-to-School Launch event on August 1st and through the gym entrance only on the first and second days of school. 
 
 
School Uniforms 
 
TMSA is a uniform-mandated charter school. All scholars (K - 8) are required to wear the official TMSA uniform daily. Scholars' uniform shirts must be embroidered with the school's official logo by the school's official uniform vendorsClick here for an overview of TMSA's uniform policy and a listing of our school's official uniform vendors. 
 
Students must be in uniform daily (appropriate TMSA logo shirts, bottoms, belts, shoes, solid navy outerwear to wear indoors, and mesh or clear book bags). Parents/guardians will be contacted via phone and/or email to bring the appropriate attire if scholars aren't adhering to uniform guidelines.
 
 
Extended Care Program (Before and After School)
 
TMSA provides fee-based before and after-school care. Registration is required. Click here for details. If you have any questions or concerns, contact Jamal Neason, Extended Care Program Director.
 
Before-school care begins at 6:30 a.m., and drop-off is located at the gym entrance (every morning). 
 
 
 
School Breakfast and Lunch
 
All TMSA families must complete and submit the annual Free and Reduced Meals Application. TMSA's August 2024 Food Menu is also available. 
 
Breakfast is served from 7:15 a.m. - 7:35 a.m. inside the cafeteria. 
 
 
Medication Authorization
 
TMSA parent/guardians must complete Fulton County Schools Medical Authorization Form(s) for medication to be administered to and/or carried by students during school hours. Click here to access the forms and return them to Nurse Jackson. More details are available on tmsa.org.

SchoolPass
 
TMSA has a new, automated afternoon carline dismissal process - SchoolPass. All TMSA families/transportation providers are must download the SchoolPass app by August 5th - the first day of school. Read the SchoolPass Letter to TMSA parents/guardians to obtain instructions on how to download the SchoolPass app, and to obtain additional important information. 
 
Important SchoolPass Details and Reminders:
  • Download the SchoolPass app before the first day of school, Monday, August 5, 2024
  • Add all authorized drivers to BOTH the SchoolPass app and Infinite Campus
  • Siblings will be linked on August 3rd and 4th (before the first day of school)
  • If you're unable to register your child(ren) on the SchoolPass app, please give their name(s) to a TMSA staff member patroling the carline or email [email protected] to report issues. 
  • Do not use the SchoolPass app for early afternoon dismissal that ends at 2:15 p.m.
  • Previous TMSA carline numbers will no longer be used. However, the color-coded exit doors still apply as follows:
