Write Score and NWEA MAP Administrations

Greetings TMSA Parents and Guardians,

The Main Street Academy (TMSA) students will participate in Write Score and NWEA MAP Testing this week.

Write Score Administration: Monday, February 24th

NWEA MAP Administration: Tuesday, February 25- Friday, February 27th

Here are a few test-taking tips to help your child prepare for Write Score and NWEA MAP tests in a stress-free way:

1. Build a Routine, Not Stress A little: practice each day—without pressure—helps build confidence. Allow students to do homework or practice a skill each day.

2. Make Reading a Daily Habit Strong: reading skills help in every subject. Read together, ask questions about the story, and encourage your child to explain their thinking. This boosts comprehension and critical thinking.

3. Practice with a Purpose: Instead of drilling random questions, focus on problem-solving strategies. Ask, “How did you get that answer?” or “Can you think of another way to solve it?” This builds deeper understanding.

4. Encourage a Growth Mindset: MAP Growth adapts to your child’s level, so they will see challenging questions. Remind them that it's okay to struggle—what matters is effort and learning. Praise persistence, not just correct answers.

5. Prioritize Rest and Positivity: Ensure a good night’s sleep, prepare a healthy breakfast ( or get student to school on time), and a create a calm morning. A relaxed mindset leads to better focus and performance.

Thank you for supporting your child's success during this testing period!
