2024 Inclusive Schools Week at TMSA: Every Voice Matters

Inclusive Schools Week celebrates schools' progress in fostering supportive, high-quality education for diverse student populations. It acknowledges the dedication of educators and communities in embracing students of all abilities, backgrounds, languages, and socio-economic circumstances. This week is an opportunity to reflect on achievements, evaluate current practices, and reaffirm a commitment to promoting inclusion and a sense of belonging for everyone within the school community. The theme for Inclusive Schools Week 2024, "Every Voice Matters," highlights the importance of ensuring that all students, educators, and community members feel heard, valued, and included. It celebrates the power of listening and collaboration, emphasizing that embracing diverse voices fosters understanding and creates an environment where everyone can thrive. This theme encourages schools to amplify every voice and work together to build communities that embrace differences and promote equity.

Throughout the week (December 2 - 6, 2024), TMSA will honor the diverse backgrounds and experiences of students, educators, and families. From classroom activities to school events, we’ll highlight the importance of fostering inclusive environments where every voice is heard, valued, and respected.

TMSA's week-long schedule of celebratory events includes:

  • Morning Announcements: Five studies will share positive messages daily (Monday - Friday).
  • Carpool Kickoff Celebration: A kickoff event in the carpool line, where students and staff will share greetings.
  • Specials Activity: Students will participate in inclusive activities during the Specials class time.
  • Wear Your Favorite Solid Color T-Shirt: Wear your favorite solid-colored T-shirt. Each color represents the unique voices and diversity within our school community.
  • Positive Messages: My Voice Matters student representatives will compose positive messages on notecards that will be displayed near the Inclusive Schools Week bulletin board.
