TMSA 8th Grade Scholars Participate in Georgia Power’s Learning Power Lessons

On November 12, 2024, 8th-grade students at The Main Street Academy participated in Learning Power lessons led by Georgia Power. These interactive lessons, available for Pre-K through high school students, are designed to foster creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking at age-appropriate levels. For this session, TMSA scholars focused on the transfer of energy.

Integrating energy education into the classroom aims to help students and their families understand the importance of adopting energy-efficient habits. The Learning Power program teaches students about energy conservation and introduces them to exciting career opportunities in STEM fields. Since its launch in 2011, Learning Power has reached over one million students across 170 school districts in Georgia with hands-on, engaging lessons.

The Main Street Academy is proud to continue its longstanding educational partnership with Georgia Power, which began in 2014 with the Georgia Power Summer Camp and has since expanded to include additional programs such as Energy Efficiency Camp and Learning Power.
