Principal Revere officially announced The Main Street Academy's 2024 - 2025 Teacher of the Year and Support Professional of the Year. TMSA's 2024 - 2025 Teacher of the Year is Mr. Jonathan Lackey, Music Director. TMSA's 2024 - 2025 Support Professional of the Year is Mrs. Marchketta Smallwood, School Counselor.
For the past eight years, Mr. Lackey has taught hundreds of TMSA scholars to love and appreciate music. Several of Mr. Lackey's students continue to thrive musically as they matriculate through high school and beyond. Mr. Lackey states, "I'm very surprised and honored to win Teacher of the Year!"
Mrs. Smallwood exclaims, " Thank you all for allowing me to represent TMSA's Support Personnel of the Year! I assure you all that this only strengthens my commitment to serving our school community."
Mr. Lackey and Mrs. Smallwood were nominated by their peers and we observed by the TMSA community of administrators and parents, as well as TMSA's 2023 - 2024 Teacher of the Year and Support Professional of the Year. Next, Mr. Lackey and Mrs. Smallwood will participate in Fulton County Schools county-wide competitions, activities and events representing The Main Street Academy.
