TMSA Drop-Off and Dismissal Notification: No Left Turns Are Allowed

Greetings TMSA Families and Transportation Providers -

During the first two weeks of school, the City of College Park's Police Department assisted TMSA with controlling the flow of traffic on Lakeshore Drive and Janice Drive (two main streets leading to TMSA). The police officers legally had the ability to modify traffic laws and posted traffic signage; therefore the officers allowed left turns in and out of TMSA's main driveway to enter and exit the school.

Post the first two weeks of school, the City of College Park's Police Department is no longer controlling the school's traffic flow. As such, all TMSA drivers must adhere to traffic laws and traffic signage posted on campus, specifically no left turns in and out of the school's main driveway during morning drop-off and afternoon dismissal. TMSA's carline staff does not have the authority to modify traffic laws and posted signage. Please kindly assist TMSA's carline staff and volunteers by following school traffic directions and instructions as we all work together to safely manage over 600 vehicles twice a day during morning drop-off and afternoon dismissal.

For your convenience, an aerial map is enclosed to display alternate routes for drivers who normally arrive at TMSA from Janice Drive.

Alternate Directions from Janice Drive:

  • From Janice Drive turn Left onto Lafayette Drive
  • Turn Left onto York Road
  • Turn Left onto Lakeshore Drive
  • Turn Right into TMSA's main driveway

Should you have any questions or concerns regarding TMSA's carline procedures, morning arrival and/or afternoon dismissal procedures, feel free to contact the school’s front office at 404-768-0081 or email [email protected]

We appreciate your understanding and support as morning drop-off and afternoon dismissal are community-wide initiatives to ensure safety and time effectiveness.

Thank you,
TMSA Administrators
