During Winter Break 2023 a new art mural, in partnership with B-Aware Foundation, A-Town Art Agency/Sam Flax and Fulton County Arts and Culture, was installed on The Main Street Academy's campus. Click here to read the initial article.
On January 20, 2023 representatives from the B-Aware Foundation awarded eleven TMSA middle school art students with canned paint bottles and Sam Flax gift cards to encourage their love of art.
The artist, Victor Walker, who designed and painted the new mural shared his professional background and creative process with the students. Walker painted his first mural in 2019 and has painted over 200 projects since that timeframe. Mr. Walker also informed the students that the longest component of the mural process was the design phase and it took him four days to paint the mural installaion at TMSA.
In turn, the students shared that the mural's lettering, shading and colors stood out to them the most.
