TMSA's kindergarten students will be working on the letters W, Z, and review previous letters they have learned A, S, B, long e, B , short e, H, M, K, R, digraph Th, N, Z and T. SW learn about verbs, nouns, adjectives, facts and opinion. SW be able to identify the main idea in a story or stories, SWA to retell a story giving details about the beginning, middle, and ending. Students can identify the difference between fiction and non-fiction. Students can blend 3-4 letter words. SW be able to compare and contrast people and objects in their environment.
Writing: SW learn how to properly write letters on the line, SWBA to write their first and last name on the line. SWBA to understand informative and explanatory writing with prompting and support, SWBA to give information or explain details on a specific topic. With prompting and support SWBA to sate his/her opinion on a specific topic. SWBA to identify the different types of sentences (.?!).
Math: SWBA to properly identify the addition, subtraction, and equal symbol and language of addition, subtraction, and equal or sum. SWBAT make real world connections by adding two groups or taking apart 2 groups to understand the whole.
Science: SWBAT to identify the difference between types of motions. SWBAT compare and contrast the type of motions (push or pull). SWBAT discuss recyling, polluting, and what we can do to help the hurt and what we do that contributes to harming the earth. SWBAT discuss 5 senses, describe each function and make real-world connections.
