Satonja Scott, Esq. was appointed President of The Main Street Academy’s Governing Board for the fiscal year 2023, which spans from July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023. The current fiscal year marks the fourth consecutive year Mrs. Scott has served on the school’s Governing Board. “It is an honor to lead the Governing Board with a group of talented individuals who want the best for TMSA”, said Satonja Scott regarding her role as Governing Board President.
As President of the Governing Board, Mrs. Scott’s goals include:
- Ensuring the Governing Board is transparent and operates efficiently
- Supporting the school’s administration in improving TMSA’s culture and atmosphere
- Providing TMSA with the tools necessary to ensure all students thrive mentally, physically and socially
Next, one of the Governing Board’s most important goals is TMSA’s inaugural Annual Innovation Fund which was launched to the school community on September 2, 2022. Mrs. Scott states, “If the TMSA community feels the school’s new Innovation Center is terrific. The community is highly encouraged to support and donate to the Annual Innovation Fund. Financial donations raised will help ensure that every square inch of our school inspires innovation. Our scholars deserve to walk into every classroom inside their school, as well as the exterior grounds, and feel inspired to do and be more!”
Mrs. Scott has been an attorney for over 20 years and currently practices Real Estate and Business Law as a Partner and Managing Attorney at Elite Law. Also, Mrs. Scott possesses a deep commitment to public service. She currently serves in numerous capacities as a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, and is a Pro Bono Attorney for the Georgia Coalition for Domestic Violence. Previously, Mrs. Scott served as president of Romar Academy’s Parent Teacher Organization.
An Atlanta native, Mrs. Scott presently resides in her hometown with her husband and two sons who are TMSA students.
