Georgia Milestones Assessment System

March 23, 2022

Greetings TMSA Parents and Guardians,

The Georgia Milestones Assessment System's (GMAS) dates for the 2021 - 2022 school year have been established by the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE). TMSA's goal this school year is to achieve 100% test participation! This school year, 2021 - 2022, is a baseline year to collect student data for the purpose of gathering information to determine learning strategies and resource allocation for student achievement. Obtaining this information will provide TMSA an opportunity to plan for greater acceleration of student growth. We acknowledge TMSA scholars' social and emotional needs as we employ strategies to minimize test anxiety and provide incentives to students who participate and do their best. We encourage you, our TMSA parents and guardians, to also support our scholars by ensuring they arrive at school on time for each testing day and encourage them to do their best each day. You can also help by offering encouragement, support, and incentives for successful participation. Please know that your scholar will do well because this year they have taken iReady diagnostics, IXL diagnostics and other assessments to measure their progress.

The GaDOE proposes no overall CCRPI (College and Career Ready Performance Index) score or rating for the state, district or schools. Content Mastery and participation (USED requires a 95% participation rate on all tests) will be calculated for each school and reported.

  • Please know and be assured that TMSA scholars will not have to repeat a grade because of the GMAS results.
  • Teachers will not receive an unsatisfactory rating because of GMAS results
  • Scholars will not have to go to summer school because of GMAS results.
  • Scholars are encouraged to show up on time, do their very best at answering all questions.
