TMSA Kindergarten: November 2021 Curriculum Overview

Reading

• Letter Kk and app
• Understanding parts of a story,  plot, setting, and characters, and words that have action (verbs)

Writing

• Practice writing letters neatly on the line
• Practice sounding out and writing the letters k and p. Writing simple sentences by sounding out words phonetically
• Understanding informative writing with prompting and support, students will be able to state his/her opinion on a specific topic

Math

• Comparing numbers 
• Counting forward from any given number
• Understanding the relationship between numbers and quantities
• Understanding greater than, less than, and equal to

Science

• The five senses students will learn to identify the 5 senses, identify body parts associated with the 5 senses

Social Studies

• Maps and globes understanding maps are flat drawings of places and globes are a model of the earth. Students should be able to state his/her own address, city, state, and country.
