Hello!
My name is Jasmyne Reynolds. I am the new Technology teacher, and I couldn’t be prouder to spend my 11th year as an educator with The Main Street Academy family. Your scholars and I have gotten off to a great start with getting to know one another, setting expectations and building our excitement for what is to come in the world of Technology as the year progresses.
So, what have your scholars learned so far? For the past few weeks, we have been learning about Digital Citizenship through Common Sense Media. As a technology team, we feel Digital Citizenship is best foundation to set for our students as we prepare to enter the world of technology in a learning space. We want our students to be equipped and learn how to be technologically responsible as they use their computers, the Internet and digital devices to engage with society at any level. As Common Sense Media states, “All students need digital citizenship skills to participate fully in their communities and make smart choices online and in life.”
More than ever, the skills and resources the students will engage in within our classes are needed immensely. Technology is here to stay and we are going to ensure your scholars have everything they need to be able to be change agents in this space. I look forward to working with you all throughout the school year. The only thing we ask is that students remain engaged, prepared and excited. Please feel free to reach out to me if you should have any questions or need any clarification. I look forward to an amazing rest of the year.
Sincerely,
Jasmyne Reynolds
