September 2, 2021
Greetings TMSA Parents and Guardians,
As of yesterday, both our school’s Governing Board and Fulton County Schools (FCS) approved a virtual learning instruction option for your student(s) to take advantage of the first and second quarters of the current 2021 – 2022 academic school year. Face-to-face instruction will continue at The Main Street Academy. However, currently, you now have an option for your student(s) to obtain virtual instruction simultaneously with students on-campus receiving face-to-face instruction for the first and second quarters of this academic year.
Registration is required for students to begin first quarter virtual instruction September 7 – October 9, 2021. The deadline to register your student(s) for first-quarter virtual instruction is Friday, September 3, 2021, by 2:00 p.m. (no exceptions). Click here to register online.
Important details:
- TMSA households may not opt into first-quarter virtual learning instruction after the deadline – Friday, September 3, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. Registration for second-quarter virtual learning instruction will open late September/early October.
- Both virtual and face-to-face instructional first-quarter schedules will remain the same.
- Students in all grade levels (K – 8) will receive school-issued Chromebooks for virtual instruction. TMSA households are required to complete and submit the 2021 – 2022 User Device Agreement.
- TMSA will not provide breakfast and lunch to students receiving virtual instruction. If available, TMSA households with virtual students may take advantage of Fulton County Schools meals pick up and curbside services.
- All students, both face-to-face and virtual, must wear their TMSA uniforms during instruction. Virtual students are required to wear their school uniforms during instruction.
- TMSA is reinstating the Virtual Hotline managed by Jamil Pearson, Parent Liaison. The purpose of the Virtual Hotline is to assist TMSA households with virtual students who may experience technical difficulties with devices and/or virtually accessing and attending classes.
- Families who opt for virtual instruction during the first-quarter and have already paid September 2021 fees for the TMSA’s Before and After School Program will receive a refund. Should families opt to return to face-to-face instruction second quarter, they will be placed on the Before and After School Program’s waitlist as spots will not be held. Please contact Marisol Clark, Director of TMSA's Before and After School Program, if you have any concerns.
- Households opting for virtual instruction may pick up their students’ desk supplies, etc. from the school beginning Tuesday, September 3.
Families opting for virtual instruction will receive logistical details for students to access their classes and more shortly after registration closes tomorrow.
Please contact TMSA’s administrative team if you have any questions or concerns.
Continue to remain safe and healthy.
Thank you,
TMSA’s Administrative Team
