Dear TMSA Parents and Guardians,
As COVID-19 cases are currently rising locally, and amongst our student population, Fulton County Schools (FCS) recently authorized charter schools, including The Main Street Academy, to offer a hybrid instructional option (consisting of both face-to-face and virtual instruction that will be evaluated monthly pending pandemic case trending) to students for the first semester of the 2021 – 2022 academic school year.
Please note the following:
- All TMSA students in grades K – 8 will work receive asynchronous instruction (students work independently without virtual teaching to complete assignments provided via OTUS or other formats) Wednesday, August 25 – Friday, August 27. Students in grades K – 1 will receive packets to complete. Students in grades 2 – 8 have been provided TMSA issued Chromebooks to access their assignments via OTUS.
- All students in grades K - 8 (except for classrooms and/or individual students in possible quarantine) will report to school for regularly scheduled face-to-face instruction on campus Monday, August 30 – Friday, September 3, 2021.
- TMSA’s administration will present a proposed hybrid model instructional plan (inclusive of face-to-face and virtual instruction options) to the Governing Board on Tuesday, August 31 for approval. If approved, the plan will be submitted to FCS for review and approval.
- Pending TMSA’s hybrid instructional plan’s approval from the Governing Board and FCS, the virtual instruction option for students in grades K – 8 will begin on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 (the day after Labor Day).
Parents and guardians, your input and instructional preference are imperative to help TMSA’s administrators prepare the proposed hybrid model instructional plan. Please complete and submit the TMSA 1st Semester Hybrid Instructional Feedback Survey on or by Wednesday, August 25, 2021. Please respond and submit one survey for each TMSA student currently enrolled.
We appreciate your patience and input as our school adjusts to changing COVID-19 patterns, while always keeping the health of your children a top priority.
Thank you,
TMSA Administration
