Greetings from TMSA's New School Counselor, Melissa Letzler

Dear TMSA Families,

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself!  My name is Melissa Letzler, and I am the new school Counselor at The Main Street Academy.  I am an Atlanta native and have previously worked at both middle and elementary schools before accepting my role at TMSA.  I have heard great things about this strong community, and it is an honor to support your children.   I am here to support your children’s development in all parts of their lives – academics, social and emotional skills, as well as college and career readiness.  I identify as a servant leader and want each of your children to feel valued and seen from the moment they walk in our school doors.  I am trying to learn every one of your children’s names and greet them by name all with a wave and “Good morning!”.

I plan to accomplish my goals through teaching classroom lessons, conducting individual counseling, working morning car line and afternoon dismissal, leading group counseling, managing 504 accommodations plans, planning speakers and events, and providing workshops to parents and staff.  As parents, I know you are the experts on your child, and I am still building relationships with them.  Therefore, your perspective, your concerns, and your voice matter to me and are valuable input.  I look forward to forging strong partnerships with you and supporting your children to soar to high heights!

Please don’t hesitate to email or call me with any questions or concerns!

Thank you,

Melissa Letzler
