Leader in Me (LiM) is Franklin Covey's whole school transformation process. LiM teaches 21st-century leadership and life skills to students and creates a culture of student empowerment based on the idea that every child can be a leader.
LiM focuses on 7-habits. Each habit teaches TMSA students and staff how to build and strengthen their leadership skills in and out of school.
The 8 habits are shown below:
The Main Street Academy (TMSA) will focus on one LiM habit per month. For the month of August, TMSA will focus on the habit - BE PROACTIVE.
LiM focused time is embedded into TMSA's daily instructional schedule which enables teachers to take time throughout the school day to strategically enforce habits with students. TMSA strives to shift our mindsets and our language by using more positive channels, such as LiM.
Also, all homerooms will be planning and developing class and individual student Widely Important Goals (W.I.G.) - goal(s) that holds the class and individual accountable for something that they want to attain daily. Along, with their W.I.G., the homeroom and individual students will have a scoreboard they will check daily for goal tracking purposes.
