Helpful Tips to Improve the Afternoon Carline

August 13, 2021

Dear TMSA Parents and Guardians,

Thank you for your diligence pertaining to the morning and afternoon carline process, particularly the afternoon carline, as we conclude the second week of school of the 2021 – 2022 academic school year.

During the two weeks of school, the afternoon carline has started early, at approximately 3:00 p.m. for parents, guardians and students to adjust to the process. However, the afternoon carline dismissal time will start at its regular time, 3:15 p.m., in the near future.

It's truly a collective team process to ensure the afternoon carline runs as smoothly and seamlessly as possible. Here’s what you need to know:

Step One

Carline Step I

Ensure you have your 2021 - 2022 TMSA issued car line tag inside the vehicle with you upon entering campus. Your carline tag number is instrumental to the Silent Dismissal process, explained more in Step Two. If you haven’t received your TMSA issued car tag, misplaced your car tag, have an issue with your car tag or would like to be reissued a replacement car tag please contact Briana Anderson, TMSA School Secretary, by email at [email protected] or by phone 404-768-0081 at ext. 110.

Step Two

Step Two Carline

As you safely drive on campus, present your TMSA issued carline tag number to TMSA staff on duty during the afternoon carline. TMSA staff will electronically input your car tag number into TMSA’s Silent Dismissal system.

Step Three

Carline Three

Your child’s teacher will directly receive an online notification via TMSA’s Silent Dismissal system that you’ve arrived on campus (see Step Two) to pick up your student and your student will be dismissed from class to walk to the afternoon carline for pickup.

Silent Dismissal

More About Silent Dismissal

Silent Dismissal is the premier method for managing students safely at the end of the school day.

Dismissal staff needs to let students know when their transportation has arrived to pick them up. Historically this has been done with bullhorns, intercoms, or radios; creating a disruptive and stressful environment for staff and students alike. Moreover, when information is not heard or understood, it creates confusion and delays. Too often everyone is bombarded with irrelevant information and subsequently unable to hear information that applies to them.

Silent Dismissal remedies all of these problems by providing a simple method for transportation arrival to be recorded and disseminated to the appropriate individuals, without noise or confusion.
