ELA Update-Independent Reading Books and Discussion Questions

Greetings Parents!

Independent Reading Books have been distributed. Students have a copy of one of the following books:

To Kill a Mockingbird
Chew on This
Raisin in the Sun
Claudette Colvin

Students are responsible for any lost or damaged books. All books should be returned Friday, September 15. Students should be be reading a minimum of twenty minutes each evening. Thanks for your support!

Weekend Homework and Review Videos

Below is a table that outlines the concept we covered today, the weekend’s homework, and a helpful video if the notes are not helpful. I will also be available via email if there are any questions.

CONCEPT We started going over the exponent rules. Today’s rules were the Product Rule and the Quotient Rule. Students should have their notes with 4 examples worked out for each rule. We have been practicing simplifying radical expressions. Students should have their notes, which includes a step-by-step guide to simplifying radicals with examples.
HOMEWORK On the worksheet passed out in class, they need to complete 7 problems from each side. They were given about 10 minutes at the end of class to start, so they may have finished. On the worksheet that was started in class, students need to finish the elephant side. The maze side will be offered for extra credit (counting as a homework grade).
