for students in 4th – 8th grade. This year we have switched to an online form.

The Kindergarten Team is excited to participate in a day of fun at the Warbington Farms in Cumming, Georgia on Friday, October 6, 2017. We will be traveling to the Warbington Farm by bus and will depart The Main Street Academy at 8:15 am. We will return to school at 2:30 pm. The cost per student/chaperone is $9. If you need to contact your student while at this event, please call the school’s main telephone number at 404.768.0081 and they will contact us at the Warbington Farm. Chaperones are on a “1st come, 1st serve” bases. Each class is only allotted 3 chaperones (must pay to secure your spot). Please complete the permission form below and return it to your student’s teacher by Thursday, September 28, 2017.
-Should be able to recognize all 26 letters.
-Should be able to write uppercase/lowercase letters.
-Know all 30 letters and sound combinations.
-Recognize 30 beginning word sounds.
-Know how to identify and write first/last name legibly.
-Know how to hold pencil/crayon correctly.
-Should be able to draw and label pictures.
-Should be able to retell a story in sequence.
-Should be able to count words in a sentence and syllables in a word.
-Recognize words that rhyme.
-Know how to count numbers 0 to 50, starting with any given number.
-Know how to count objects in a one-by-one correspondence.
-Can recognize numbers 0 to 50 out of order.
-Write numbers 0 to 20 from memory.
-Know basic 2-Dimensional shapes (circle, square, triangle, etc.).
-Should be able to sort and group objects by shape, size, and color.
Social and Emotional Development:
-Know how to tie shoes independently.
-Know how to get dressed by themselves. (ex: buttoning pants/skorts/shorts, buttoning shirt, tucking shirt in, etc.)
-Know how to hold and use scissors appropriately.
-Know how to stand/walk in a straight line.
-Know how to work independently.
-Know how to use appropriate amounts of glue.
-Know how to work a computer mouse on both a desktop and laptop.
-Should be able to sit quietly for a minimum of 5-10 minutes.
-Should be able to interact comfortably with peers in play and work situations without adult assistance.
-Should be able to take turns, share materials, and respect others’ ideas and collaborate comfortably with a group of their peers.
-Should be able to successfully transition from one center to another or from “carpet time” to centers.
-Should be able to communicate effectively with adults and their peers.
-Should be able to follow 2-step directions.
